Sierra Nicole Beard

My name is Sierra Beard. I am a Master of Public Health student at the University of Georgia, class of 2022. I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) for my Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management.

Born in Tallahassee, FL, I am the youngest of two children. After my family moved to Mobile, AL, we returned to Florida. I graduated as valedictorian from Spring Hill Christian Academy. I was the recipient of academic scholarships and won numerous writing contests. Because of several health challenges experienced by members of my family, I became interested in health promotion and behavior.

Though I have been interested in healthcare from a young age, my undergraduate experience at FAMU solidified my plans to pursue my Master of Public Health degree. My interest in promoting health and preventing disease, disability and premature death through education led me to the concentration of Health Promotion Behavior, where I aspire to work in promoting lifestyle change and disease management programs. This portfolio showcases my work throughout my collegiate career as a Public Health student.
